Macs sneaking into Microsofts market or being invited?
I was just reading a very interesting article published by Harvard Business. It appears that the new Snow Leapord Macs being rolled out will come equipped with MS Exchange 2007 compatibility. This is going to wreak havoc for many network administrators in the medium business sector who have Mac enthusiast users that want to switch PC’s. The support for Exchange functions, however, is not without flaw. Personally, I believe I can convince my clients to stay away based on the alleged lack of archived PST support but I’m not looking forward to troubleshooting a bunch of Mac issues.
So the question is: Did Microsoft ask for this encroachment on their market? I ask because of their own Entourage application, as well as their other apps designed to bridge the Win-Mac gap) designed to allow current Mac users to use Outlook functions in previous Mac OS’s. What are your thoughts?
